
November 20th, 2025: Shereen Ahmed presented her STEM-POWER undergraduate research at the ABRCMS Meeting in San Antonio, TX. Her poster was titled: The effect of helicase mutations on West Nile Virus replication fidelity.
July 16th, 2025: Hayley Moree presented her undergraduate honors thesis work at the American Society for Virology Meeting in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her poster was titled: Investigating Fatty Acid Influence on West Nile Virus in Mosquitoes and Birds.


September 30th, 2024: The Sexton Lab has a Lab pet. This apricot Pacman frog is named Modelo and grew very quickly. He lives with our Research Technician Kenny now (2025).


April 12th, 2024: Western Blotting up and running.


April 11th, 2024: The Sexton Lab has started rearing Culex tarsalis mosquitoes! We also have Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes.
