The Sexton Lab at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln

Our apricot Pacman frog is here and growing fast. The frog (Modelo) has triple in size since joining the lab. Modelo is as big as a petri dish and taking a winter break.

Adult Cx tarsalis hanging out in their colony. A blood fed female mosquito who will lay eggs. Larvae that hatched from the eggs and are getting close to pupating. Pupa ready to emerge into new adults for the colony.

April 4th, 2023: Undergraduate researchers, Caden and Nikoleta, ran their first DNA gel today. The first step in a long journey.

March 17th, 2023: We’ve covered our safety bases and received clearance to start doing work. Excited to start making discoveries.
